It’s Better to Be Young and Rich Rather Than Old and Poor in New York (#29)

Although I went “looking” for this image, I was deeply saddened that I found it. To see that in 2022 we still allow this dichotomy to exist is totally abhorrent. As I photographer I felt it my duty to record the image and show man’s inhumanity against his fellow man.. As a human being it just brings tears to my eyes.

My first thought was the old man was holding on to a bottle of alcohol. Closer inspection in Photoshop showed this only to be a bottle of water – the mainstay of life. Though on this occasion I am not so sure.
