Judge's Comments

An image with a story is always interesting, and this one hits the spot on that account. In addition, the placing of the three main groups of characters is visually pleasing, the film grain accentuates the sandiness of the image, and the monochrome conversion removes any potential distractions of colour and allows the viewer to focus on the main point of narrative interest: the expression on the dog's face that says everything about the weather conditions!
