Judge's Comments

A landscape that uses a restricted colour palette and a narrow landscape crop to successfully communicate the open, windswept and chilly nature of the winter fens. I particularly like the way the swirl of cloud in the upper half of the image matches the shape of the open body of water in the lower half, giving the image a pleasing visual balance.
