The Oscars come to Swavesey - and "Wicked" wins best picture!

Our second set subject competition of the season, "Film Titles", made last night an enjoyable evening's entertainment, with SCC member Emma Hall's wonderfully cinematographic photograph for the movie "Wicked" taking home judge Ben Pike's best picture award...

Special congratulations also go to Ian Taylor and Richard Harrison, who jointly took away the highest aggregate scores of 38 out of 40. Ian's authentically detailed "The Mummy" surely took away the award for best production design, having handmade his props and models, while the statuette for visual effects must have found its home with Richard's humorous "King Kong", which with Emma's "Wicked", scored the top score of 20.

Dona McCullagh's "Man in the Attic" (1950s horror) was tipped for best dramatic picture, and Patty Watkins' "The Frozen Ground" undoubtedly won the cinematography award, with Eleni Paliginis' "The Brutalist" front-runner for the artistic direction (black and white) award.

Ian Taylor's "Gods of Egypt" was always going to scoop the award for costume design in honour of Seth and his companions.

Congratulations to all who submitted photographs on the night, and our thanks to Ben Pike for his excellent, constructive comments throughout the evening. We hope he enjoyed it as much as we did, and look forward to his return to the club in the future.
