Once a stretch of farmland, this wetland reserve is now a rich mix of reedbeds, marshes and woodlands where Kingfishers, Common Cranes, and Otters thrive, as well as a plethora of invertebrates such as dragonflies and damselflies..
Meet at the Visitor's Centre at 10 a.m. Please let Penny or Emma know if you plan to attend.
If you haven't been before, entry is free to RSPB members and £5 for everyone else. There isn't a cafe but they do have a hot drinks machine plus cold drinks, pre-packaged cold snacks and ice cream for sale from the Visitor Centre.
We'll be looking for Hobbies and dragonflies as well as all the usual reedbed breeding birds, insects and spiders.
Lakenheath is a large reserve and does require walking at least a mile to enjoy the location.
