We've been updating the website with some of the latest photography workshops from Campkins Cameras and Kevin Pigney that might be of interest to members of the club...
Campkins Cameras events and workshops
Most of us will be familiar with the camera shop Campkins Cameras, in King's Parade, Cambridge. But what you may not realise is that they run a series of year-round workshops. The next one on the calendar is coming up on Friday 30th January (7.00-9.30pm), entitled "Ignite the frame: Wire wool & long exposure mastery".
According to the Campkins' website: "Steel wool burns. When you spin it fast enough, sparks fly off in all directions creating spectacular light trails. Photograph it with a long exposure and you get bold, cinematic images that look like something from a film set. It’s part controlled technique, part creative chaos. Which is precisely why it’s so much fun." Click here for full information on this workshop
Kevin Pigney & Lisa Verrinder - Coastal Workshops in East Anglia
The name of Kevin Pigney will be familiar to most members of SCC, as a regular speaker at the club and highly-respected local photographer. He also runs frequent workshops, including a series of East Anglian coastal workshops with Lisa Verrinder. Each workshop is limited to a maximum of six photographers, so that each group member can benefit to the full from the personal tuition available both on the day and in the pre-workshop zoom meeting.
Learn how to use graduated filters, how to bracket your exposures, long exposure techniques using ND filters, camera settings, recommended equipment and planning a shoot. The next workshop coming up is at Southwold on February 11th, meeting at the pier at 6.30am. Click here for full information on this and other upcoming workshop dates
