Puffins are hilarious birds and are known as the “clowns of the sea”. They form pair bonds and reaffirm these bonds when they come back from fishing at sea. They also make gentle noises to each other whilst performing this “billing” behaviour. I waited to try and get the right conditions for this picture and isolate these two birds, not an easy feat in a busy, puffin colony.
