The Hemispheric, Valencia (#80)

The City of Arts and Sciences is a cultural and architectural complex in the City of Valencia, Spain. It is situated at the southeast end of the former riverbed of the River Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957. The old riverbed was transformed into a picturesque sunken park with buildings designed by the renowned architect, Santiago Calatrava. The Hemispheric, a planetarium and IMAX cinema, was the first building to open in 1998. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, a theatre, is in the background.

This image is a long exposure (1/6 of a second) taken just after sunset when there is still some evening colour in the sky.
